WORD OF THE MONTH

With the recent inductions of legendary artists such as LL Cool J and Jay Z (2021) and Eminem and Dolly Parton (2022) into the Rock and Roll Hall of fame, I am reminded of when my grandfather was inducted in 2013 (21 years after his death). Unlike many artists, he didn’t get all his flowers while he was living but it was a beautiful site to see John Mayer pay homage to his legacy.
The impact we make as artists is much bigger than ourselves. So, when you find yourself doubting your work and worth, remember who are and that there is a young soul that will one day reflect back on your body of work. They will reminisce on how much your art changed their world. How YOU and your legacy are the reason they found their place.
Not every artist will receive such prestigious recognition but every artist whose work speaks to the heart and spirit of others is deserving.
